North Side Notifies South Side of
Its Stand on Trial Train Operation
Pak Jong Song, head of the north side's
group for the working contact for the reconnection of rail and road links
between the north and the south of Korea, sent the following notice to Hong
Kwang Phyo, chief delegate of the south side's group, informing it of the north
side's stand on the north-south trial train operation on
May 24.
The notice said that it
was impossible to conduct the trial operation of a north-south train on May 25
as scheduled, given that the military authorities of both sides had taken any
measure for a military guarantee and that a very unstable and unfavorable
situation was created in the south of Korea by the pro-US ultra-right
conservative forcesf frantic acts of attacking the June 15
declaration-supporting forces, trying to push the situation in south Korea to
that of confrontation and war, as the south side was aware of these
developments.
The notice added that the north side would wait for an appropriate time to come for the trial train operation between the north and the south after a military guarantee was provided by the military authorities of both sides and the situation in the south returned to normal.
