Two new shops producing beer and processed milk had started production. After hearing  explanations about the shops, he went round their production processes to acquaint himself in detail with their construction and production.

After making the rounds of the structures built in the best quality and the production processes equipped with the latest facilities, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the builders had successfully constructed the modern foodstuff production base with total dedication to the people. Seeing a variety of products coming out in an endless stream, he was pleased with the fact that it would become possible for the shops to supply more quality foodstuffs to the people. He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to manage and operate the shops, saying that as the modern foodstuff shops had been built, it was necessary to keep the production going at a high rate.

It is imperative to pay primary attention to the control of equipment and technical management as the shops are furnished with ultra-modern equipment, he said, stressing that to this end, efforts should be directed to the work of raising the level of the technical skill of the producers and, at the same time, that research into this field should be intensified and advanced technology be actively introduced.

In order to ensure the hygienic security of foodstuffs, it is necessary to widely introduce the processing method based on up-to-dated technology and keep the interior and the exterior of the factory neat and tidy to sterilize the production site, he noted.

Packing and trademarks are very important in foodstuff production, too, he said, underlining the need to improve the quality of packing and, at the same time, design trademarks well to suit the characteristics of consumers.

He also underlined the need for the factory to properly work out a management strategy, a business strategy on the principle of profitability and effectively realize the modernization and scientification of the production processes on a phased basis and thus systematically lower the norm of raw materials consumption per unit of goods to supply greater quantities of low cost quality foodstuffs to the people.

He was accompanied by Kim Kuk Thae and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Generals of the Korean Peoplefs Army Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong.
