Kim Jong Il Gives On-the-Spot Guidance to Kwangpho Duck Farm


 According to the KCNA on Sep.14, Kim Jong Il, the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, gave on-the-spot guidance to the rebuilt Kwangpho Duck Farm.

Going round the hatching, duckling and duck breed houses, the processing shop and other places of the farm, he acquainted himself with the modernization of and production on the farm.

 After going the round the farm, he set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by the farm. In order to put the production on a normal footing it is necessary, first of all, to satisfactorily solve the feed problem, he said, underscoring the need for the co-op farms responsible for the feed for the duck farm to steadily increase the grain yield and for the farm to boost the production of water grass growing in Lake Kwangpho.  

 He stressed the need to actively develop a good stock of ducks, which grow fast while consuming less feed, and widely introduce advanced technology instrumental in putting the breeding on a scientific basis to suit the physiological characteristics of duck.

Kim Jong Il Gives On-the-Spot Guidance to Hungnam Fertilizer Complex

  According to the KCNA on Sep. 17, Kim Jong Il gave on-the-spot guidance to the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.   

He went round the production processes including the compounding shop and soap shop to acquaint himself with the technological reconstruction and production at the complex.
 Saying that in order to solve the problem of food it was necessary to actively develop agriculture and an increase in the supply of fertilizers is essential for making farming successful, he stressed that this heavy yet honorable task was devolved upon the workers of Hungnam.

    In order to boost the production and supply of various kinds of fertilizers to the countryside it is important to energetically push ahead with the technological reconstruction aimed at equipping all the production processes with the latest facilities and intensify activities to introduce new technology, he noted, underscoring the need for the guiding officials of the complex to energetically undertake the organizational and political work to enable the producers to give play to the creative initiative and, at the same time, give precedence to economic calculation and intensify the drive for economization so as to fully ensure profitability in production.
